Service Sites – Spark GPRC & 26 Aroha

Ongoing maintenance and compliance support ensuring safety and reliability across multiple client sites.

Overview

Zion Fire provides ongoing service and maintenance for a range of client sites, including datahalls, datasystems, and buildings such as Spark GPRC and 26 Aroha. Our work covers Gas Flood systems with 2- and 3-stage evacuation, EWIS systems, and essential fire protection equipment. Our in-house IQPs oversee all testing, IQP checks, BWOF requirements, and building compliance to maintain system reliability and ensure each site meets New Zealand fire protection standards.

Business Challenges

Upgrading and maintaining the systems at these sites required a coordinated and highly responsive approach. The team had to work around live operational environments, navigate tight timeframes, and ensure that all compliance obligations were met without interrupting day-to-day activities. Close collaboration with technicians, building managers, and external providers was essential to keeping the project on track and ensuring that every aspect of the work met regulatory expectations.

Objectives

The objectives for this work focused on restoring the sites to full operational reliability while meeting all compliance obligations and minimising disruption for the client. Ensuring clear communication, accurate documentation, and efficient delivery was essential to maintaining safety and keeping each system performing as intended.

Solutions Implemented

At Spark GPRC, our team carried out critical repairs to restore full system functionality within a live operational environment. This included removing and replacing a leaking 100 mm gate valve, installing new 100 mm VJ couplings to secure the pipework, and fitting a new gate valve switch for accurate supervisory monitoring. The fuel hand pump was also replaced to ensure reliable performance of the pump system during emergency operation. All works were completed efficiently by two sprinkler technicians and one alarm technician, allowing the site to remain operational with minimal disruption.

At 26 Aroha, Zion Fire provided comprehensive Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF) management, overseeing the full compliance schedule for the 2025–2026 period. Our team coordinated all Form 12A inspections, gathered and verified documentation from external service providers, and prepared the required reports for council submission. This end-to-end approach ensured the building remained fully compliant, with all records accurately maintained and lodged on time.

Project Outcome

Both projects highlight Zion Fire’s commitment to delivering responsive, high-quality service supported by clear communication and strong technical expertise. Whether completing urgent repairs within a live operational environment or managing the full BWOF process for a multi-unit residential property, our team ensures that every aspect of the work is carried out with precision and reliability.

By combining hands-on problem-solving with thorough compliance management, we provide clients with systems that are not only fully functional but also meet all regulatory and documentation requirements. These projects demonstrate our ability to support a wide range of building types and operational conditions, ensuring every fire protection asset remains safe, compliant, and dependable for the long term.
